Intro to Photography: Canon Inc.
In Fall 2024, this transformative creative afterschool program was conceptualized and launched to provide underrepresented youth with direct pathways into professional photography. Designed for students at Brooklyn Lab Charter School, the initiative was spearheaded from initial vision to execution, bridging the gap between access, technical skill development, and career possibilities in the creative industry.
Key Leadership & Program Impact:
Curriculum Design & Facilitation: Co-developed and executed a rigorous 6-week "Intro to Photography" hands-on workshop alongside photographer Obinna Obioma, teaching fundamental camera mechanics, composition, and visual storytelling.
Corporate Sponsorship & Asset Procurement: Pitch-led and secured a hardware sponsorship from Canon Inc., procuring 20 professional-grade cameras and lenses to equip every student with industry-standard gear.
Brand Partnership & Exhibition Production: Partnered with Framebridge to produce custom framing for all student work, culminated by curating a final gallery exhibition hosted at Kith HQ for students, families, and community leaders.
Youth Empowerment & Access Architecture: Built a scalable framework focused on representation, mentorship, and practical skill-building that serves as a blueprint for future creative youth programs.
